Cap-Pelé is North America’s largest exporter of smoked herring and you’re getting an inside look. Meet your guide, Artémise, at the Visitor Information Centre and begin your tour in the Smokehouse Museum. Later you’ll stop by a working smokehouse where you’ll not only smell the aromatic smoked herring, you'll taste some, too. Visit a fishermen’s workshop to see how lobster traps are made, then the Aboiteau wharf lobster pound to hold a giant lobster. Take note of the angel statue watching over the fishermen, and visit Sainte-Thérèse-d’Avila Church, built in the shape of a boat. Discover what an aboiteau is at Aboiteau Beach.
