Weaving fabric is as traditional as weaving a tall tale along the Miramichi. When you visit the historic Doak site, you’ll be schooled in the bygone art of weaving by a costumed interpreter. You’ll tour a restored 19th-century house and school on the site, and take an up-close look at furniture, dishes, linens and farming tools owned by Squire Doak, after whom the Village of Doaktown is named. The weaving material and looms for your lesson are supplied, along with expert instruction. Your finished sample of Miramichi Tartan will be a lifelong reminder of your weaving experience.
