The Baddeck and Area Community Market focuses on local sourcing and production for all our vendors. We’re delighted to include small-holding farmers, market gardeners, bakers, specialty food makers, and artisanal crafters. You can purchase chicken, fish, beef, fresh vegetables, plants, and herbs, sauces, jams, wild-flower honey, honey wine, breads, and beans, along with hand-crafted dishware, wood implements, photographs, and hand-made greeting cards. We have jewellers, and potters, and weavers demonstrating their craft. For snacking at the market, we offer fresh baking, Nova-Scotia-roasted coffee, and local sausage grilled on site.
The Market is a hive of activity on Wednesday afternoons, and is a great place to meet friends. Situated in downtown Baddeck, we look out directly onto the Bras d’Or. Even when you’re finished shopping, it’s a great place to be!
The Baddeck and Area Community Market is a community based initiative focusing on social and economic development in the local area. Our Mission is to create a local community market that celebrates the spirit of community in an inclusive festival atmosphere, while providing buyers and sellers of local products a place to conduct exchange. We strive to create the type of market that is mutually beneficial to all parties involved, as well as to the community as a whole. Our Market celebrates the spirit of community by showcasing our local farmers, artists, artisans, and crafters.
