A hidden gem on the south shore, the Chester Playhouse has a rich history within the heart of the community as well as within Nova Scotian arts and culture, having provided a haven for local entertainment since 1939. Featuring excellent acoustics and comfortable seating for 176, the Playhouse offers not only live theatre, but a vista for live music and film. The versatility allows talents to be brought in and showcased from all over the Maritimes, allowing the Playhouse to cater to a variety of tastes without breaking the bank. 

Community-oriented at its heart, the Playhouse not only provides an ideal location to catch some live entertainment, but seeks to give back to the community that supports it. A thorough supporter of education, the Playhouse is partnered with local schools to allow young minds to experience live theatre themselves, as well as offering discounted tickets for students. Theatre camps are available for youth between the ages of 4-18.
