Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum

Nova Scotia

Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum

Off Cole Harbour Rd (Rte 207) via Otago Dr (from Dartmouth, turn left at lights opposite Colby Village Plaza). A rural oasis amid a modern suburban area. Museum includes heritage buildings, archival material, agricultural and household implements, farm animals, gardens and a tea room. Special events throughout the year. Partial wheelchair access.

Wildflowers grow undisturbed in natural areas, tidy plots provide greens and vegetables for home-style lunches in the tea room, floral borders provide a riot of colour. The gardens are interpretive and nostalgic, practical and experimental, incorporating old and new. Heritage plant varieties rescued from old farms grow side by side with newer varieties, all situated according to their growing needs and to maximize the number of species, flowering seasons, and uses. Stroll our pathway of native trees and shrubs to the neighbouring pond and wetland. Or sit and enjoy the sights and sounds, perhaps the plea of a nearby sheep if you find yourself by the kale patch!
