Dunromin Campsite and Cabins

Picked for 25 Best Family Campgrounds in Canada by Parenting Today Rated top 300 RV Parks in all of North America by Trailer Life The Mi’kmaq lived peacefully here as far back as people know. Samuel de Champlain and Sieur de Monts settled here in 1605, starting the first permanent European settlement north of the Gulf of Mexico. This has been a chosen spot for centuries and campers have been choosing Dunromin for more than 50 years. We are right on the shore of the Annapolis Basin, flowing into the Bay of Fundy, with its renowned highest tides in the world. These tides are harnessed by the only tidal generating station in North America. All our facilities are new in the past few years and our campers repeatedly tell us this is the most delightful spot they have been to. We have a wide variety of sites, ranging from water front tenting to our premium water front R.V. sites. We also have 30- and 50-amp pull-through sites for big rigs. We feature wheelchair accessible storefront and washrooms, as well as a family washroom. A big selling feature is our waterfront which provides a refreshing breeze and easy access for swimming, boating and fishing. We also have available for rent hand-painted native tipis, a one-of-a-kind gypsy wagon, and charming camping cabins that are right at the water’s edge. On the campground we have both a swimming pool and a sandy swimming beach. With nearly 2,000 feet of shoreline, you can be sure to find a quiet spot to sit in solitude. Keep an eye out for sea otters, seals, loons and the occasional porpoise. For the boating enthusiast, miles and miles of waterway are accessed by our boat launch with 2 docks. When the mackerel are running almost anyone can catch them. Striped bass are the prize for big game fish here, with record landings of 69 lbs from our campers. For the adventuresome we offer guided kayaking half-day trips on Frenchman’s Basin and Allains Creek through marshlands and early Acadian dykes – a unique opportunity to experience the extreme tide range of the Bay of Fundy. A full-day tour can be planned to the uninhabited “Goat Island”. This island bird habitat trip also includes digging your own clams and steaming them on the beach. If you are interested, yet do not have kayaking experience, we offer a kayak intro course that will prepare you for any of these trips. Fresh Coffee – Only the best is served at our own “Stone Horse Cafe” along with an extensive selection of herbal teas. The garden patio is a delight to your senses. Our gourmet menu focuses on homemade soups, chowders, pastas and quiches. No deep-fried food. Top off your meal with one of our delicious desserts - now you’re camping in style and class! We also offer 45 flavours of ice cream, a perfect summer treat. Part of an on-going tradition, our small scoop is a really big one.

We enjoyed our stay at Dunromin water front Campground. Our stay was great. We met great staff and travelers and the stay all season campers were wonderful and friendly. There was a fantastic spot on the beach to let our kids play in the water chasing ball. Dogs of course.
The Food well that is another subject and all I can say is WOW. We have never eaten out as much as we did that trip.
It is so close to so many attractions we spent most our time planning our day trips.
I guess you could say we had a blast. Try it out you will not be disappointed.
