Urve Manuel finds inspiration for her leaded glass panels and fused glass sculpture and functional objects from the astounding beauty found in nature. Her studio may be occupied by a herd of freestanding glass caribou, or iridescent squid immortalized in shimmering glass forms. As much as colour, Manuel finds that the texture of glass is important to her compositions due to its interaction with the ever-changing light that enlivens and influences the glow of the glass throughout the day.
